Same Girls...
draw upon the ever changing landscape they grew up in, movements such as grunge and motown and channel it into their instruments to create an idiosyncratic sound reflective of their ever-changing lives. ‘Sailing’, taken off the bands upcoming album Young Minded, was written when vocalist Taifa Nia was homeless. The swirling track reflects on the changes in Nia’s relationships with those around him as he confides in listeners about moments he’d like back. Utilising a beat fuelled by nothing but groove, layers of flanged guitars and perfectly mixed bass evoke seaside imagery and mirror the vulnerability of Nia. (Born Music)
